Driver/Receptionist

We have an opportunity for a Driver/Receptionist to join our Out of Hours service on a bank contract.

What is the role?

  • You will be responsible for chauffeuring clinicals to and from patient home visits, ensuring appointment slots are kept too, and patients receive communication if there are any delays.
  • You’ll be ensuring the car is suitable ahead of your shift, conducting internal and external checks to check for damage and cleanliness.
  • When needed, you will also be able to support with reception duties at on our Out of Hours bases, checking patients in on SystmOne.

You’ll join our Suffolk Out of Hours team. This service is delivered by Suffolk GP Federation - we are a not-for-profit, community interest company and our main purpose is to support Primary Care across Suffolk, including support with working collaboratively and at scale. We also deliver a portfolio of NHS services across Suffolk and North East Essex, including Podiatry, Ultrasound, Diabetes, as well as Urgent Care Services including the Out of Hours face-to-face Service in Suffolk.

Is it for me?

We will work alongside the successful candidate to ensure they are sufficiently inducted and trained; there will be regular constructive supervision in place. It is important to us that you feel safe and supported in the role.

  • In order to be successful in this role, you’ll need to have a full, clean UK driving licence and good map reading skills.
  • If you have worked within the healthcare sector before as a driver, or receptionist this would be an advantage to your application, but is not essential.
  • You’ll need to be able to stick to appointment times, and remain calm at times of pressure.

Contract type:

This is a bank contract working on a rota basis, the service runs 24/7 on weekends and bank holidays, and from 18:30 – 08:00 on week days. You will need to be available to work bank holidays, especially over the Christmas period.
