Apprentice Technical Support Engineer
We are looking for an apprentice to join our IM&T team on a fixed term apprenticeship contract for 18 months.
What is the role?
- You’ll work closely with the IM&T Helpdesk / Support team to learn and expand your technical knowledge.
- You will be responsible for supporting with the day-to-day queries from the services across the Federation, which will come via phone calls or emails.
- You’ll work alongside a skilled team, developing your own skillset whilst also undertaking an Information Communication Technician Course.
You’ll work in the IM&T team, supporting all of the services Suffolk GP Federation run. We are a not-for-profit, community interest company and our main purpose is to support Primary Care across Suffolk, including support with working collaboratively and at scale. We also deliver a portfolio of NHS services across Suffolk and North East Essex, including Podiatry, Ultrasound, Diabetes, as well as Urgent Care Services including the Out of Hours face-to-face Service in Suffolk.
Is it for me?
We will work alongside the successful candidate to ensure they are sufficiently inducted and trained; there will be regular constructive supervision in place. It is important to us that you feel safe and supported in the role.
- You’ll need to hold GCSE’S or equivalent qualifications in Maths and English, and be willing to engage and undertake further learning as a part of your apprenticeship qualification.
- You’ll need to have a basic knowledge of IT and systems – with a passion to developing this.
- You’ll need to be happy to participate in the on-call rota as a part of your role, once you are comfortable and competent to do so.
Contract type:
This is a fixed term contract for the duration of the apprenticeship qualification, which is typically 18 months but can be less. Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, there is potential for further job opportunities within the team. This role will involve working full time across Monday – Friday, and future participation in the on-call rota will also be implemented once comfortable.
