Brief Description

Are you looking for a change? We do things a bit differently.

Our team is expanding and we are looking for dynamic, forward-thinking individuals to join our Urgent Care team.

What’s the role?

  • You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day management and running of the operational team (drivers & receptionists) as well as the fleet and facilities of the Out of Hours Service.
  • It’s a role that requires visible leadership and operational flare to ensure that our dispersed workforce are supported, and our bases are operationally sound. Given the nature of the service, you will need to be available for some weekend and evening work.
  • You’ll also line manage our team of drivers and receptionists, in line with our ‘people-not-process’ culture.
  • You’ll participate in the on-call rota

The Out of Hours Service provides urgent out-of-hours appointments from Monday – Friday 18:30 – 08:00 and 24 hours at weekends and bank holidays. Patients access the service via NHS 111, where the NHS 111 team assess the patient over the phone and if clinically appropriate will book the patient in to our Out of Hours service. We are then able to offer the patient either an appointment at one of our Primary Care Centres or a home visit.

The Suffolk Out of Hours Service is run by Suffolk GP Federation CIC, a not-for-profit community interest company.

Is it for me?

We will make sure you are fully inducted and trained; there will be regular constructive supervision in place. It’s important to us that you feel safe and supported in your role

Your development is important to us; we want to invest in you.

  • You’d be suited to this role if you’re self-motivated & enthusiastic and consider yourself an innovative team player who enjoys a varied workload.
  • You’ll need previous management or leadership experience. Previous experience of working within the health sector would be beneficial but it’s not essential.
  • You’ll need to be able to remain calm under pressure and be proactive in developing pathways/protocols.

Hours: Permanent Part Time 20 hours per week, this post requires working various patterns across a seven day week

What we can offer you:

  • A strong ethos of flexible working, to help us maintain (or reclaim) that work/life balance
  • Agile working, enabling us to work from a variety of bases, interacting with your teams at the most appropriate location
  • Innovative teams who strive in forward thinking, with a voice that is heard
  • A visible and supportive management team, with operational support that ‘get it’
  • Excellent IT teams & support giving us first class equipment and ‘no wait’ responses
  • A commitment to personal development, training and leadership opportunities, with service-managed training budgets
