We have an exciting opportunity for a Lead Clinical Pharmacist to join our well-established Clinical Pharmacy Team. You will be based at our centralised Hub in Haverhill, where our clinical workload for our four sites is triaged through telephone and virtual consultations.
What’s the role?
- Provide clinical and strategic leadership to a highly skilled, supportive and forward-thinking pharmacy team
- Lead on the management, development and optimisation of prescribing systems, ensuring safe, effective and high-quality prescribing across Unity
- Act as a senior clinical leader, supporting and supervising pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and the wider multidisciplinary team
- Work closely with GP leads and senior management to drive service development, quality improvement and innovation in medicines optimisation
- Oversee and support the management of patient-facing clinical workload, including complex medication reviews and structured medication reviews
- Provide guidance and oversight on E-consult and digital triage workflows
- Contribute to governance, audit, and clinical safety processes, ensuring continuous improvement
- Work collaboratively with, and support, the Dispensary Manager across our two dispensing sites, ensuring safe, efficient and compliant dispensing services and alignment between prescribing and dispensing functions

Our Clinical Pharmacy Team is a highly valued and integral part of our multidisciplinary workforce, supporting a patient population of over 28,000. The team delivers clear benefits to patients, GPs and the wider practice team.
You will be leading a team of:
- 4 Clinical Pharmacists
- 4 Pharmacy Technicians
- 2 Medicines Care Coordinators

You will be well suited if you:
- Are an experienced Clinical Pharmacist ready to step into, or already working in, a leadership role
- Are registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
- Hold an independent prescribing qualification
- Have strong clinical knowledge and a commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care
- Demonstrate excellent leadership, communication, influencing and negotiation skills
- Have a good understanding of general practice and primary care systems
- Are proactive, motivated and passionate about service development and improvement
- Are confident in adopting and supporting others with new digital and IT systems
