Brief Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time podiatry apprentice to join our innovative and supportive podiatry team in September 2025. This is a developmental role, in which the post holder will work towards the successful completion of a BSc (Hons) degree in podiatry in conjunction with the University of East London. The apprenticeship is a four-year programme directly related to the apprenticeship standard, combining work-based learning with mandatory off-the job study.

What is the role?

You will work towards becoming a qualified HCPC podiatrist, who will specialise in the lower limb (feet, ankles, and legs).

You will provide high quality clinical care to patients of all ages, and will provide preventative advice, care, assessment, and treatment of a range of conditions associated with the lower limb.

You will combine academic and work-based learning, and will form close working relationship with your colleagues and education provider.

You will join our Podiatry service, which is delivered by Suffolk GP Federation CIC. We are a not-for-profit, community interest company and our main purpose is to support Primary Care across Suffolk, including support with working collaboratively and at scale. We also deliver a portfolio of NHS services across Suffolk and North East Essex.

Is it for me?

  • You can earn while you learn, spending 40% of your time in the workplace, and 60% at university
  • No tuition fees to pay: they are covered by us as an employing organisation and the government
  • You do not miss out on a university experience sill getting the opportunity to attend campus and interact with other learners
  • You take part in clinical placements
  • You get to work with a wide range of patients and make a real difference
  • You can apply for registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) after you qualify; the HCPC is the regulator for the profession and you need to be HCPC-registered to practise.

We will work alongside the successful candidate to ensure they are sufficiently inducted and trained; there will be regular constructive, supportive supervision in place. It is important to us that you feel safe and supported in the role.

You will need a high level of commitment to manage both degree level study and a commitment to the employer/patient care in the workplace.

Contract type: Apprenticeship -- 4 Years

What we can offer you:

  • A strong ethos of flexible working, to help us maintain (or reclaim) that work/life balance.
  • Innovative teams who strive in forward thinking, with a voice that is heard.
